Tamu alternatives for Malaysian homestay operators

What Tamu's own site says

• Tamu's homepage lists one price: RM 99 a month per property, with unlimited bookings and 0% commission.
• The same page states a 14-day free trial with no credit card, free setup and onboarding, Malaysian customer support, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
• Their headline reads Stop Paying 20% Commission to OTAs, and they describe the product as built for Malaysian boutique properties.
• Their site is published in English only on this date, with documentation, a blog and an affiliate programme.

Why Malaysian operators look for something else

• Per-property pricing means ten small units cost the same as ten large ones: RM 99 each is RM 990 a month.
• An owner renting rooms and beds by the month inside one house wants a price per room, not per house.
• Monthly rental is a different job from nightly stays: rent schedules, deposits, utility bills and tenancy agreements.

Options, by situation

1. Option 1

   Below a certain size any system adds work without adding revenue. The trouble starts at the second unit or the second channel.
